The holes

The excavators

From the quarry to the slabs
The sawmill of the marbles where the blocks are transformed into marble slabs, hardwood floors, steps and risers.
The blocks are downloaded in squares of stock with bridge cranes and are put on steel trolleys ready to enter in the marble frame.
The marble frame is an automatic and computerised machinery which has 80 diamond saw blades attached at the top of the frame with quick release skewers and a foundation on which is placed the block and water.
So placed, the block is lifted up to the blades in sync with the horizontal movement of the advancing blades. 
At the end of the cut, the truck with ready-made sheets in in the rough, automatically drops, and the plates are divided into crayons, i.e. in groups of slabs with specific measures.
This allows the slabs of marble to be ready after polishing them and being put in the fastenings or bundles of wood, specially manufactured for export in containers.
Then from the chassis, the truck with the plates divided automatically switches to processing area of the slabs.
After the rough slab is put in the high-temperature furnaces to dilate the marble and the cracks, So who later enters the resin to cover the problem of lastra. 
After potting compound, the slabs resting on a rise in the oven at high temperature, to fix in 48 chemical resin hours previously stretched out on it.
Passed technical drying times, slabs come automatically from the ovens and reposition on carts ready to be polished with polishing machines. By polishing, the slabs, always on crayons, are covered with a patina of chemical network or a jet of water and place on a sheet of cellophane.
Pastels are then packaged by shipyard workers in fastenings of wood, prepared by external joinery, ready for export or sale in Italy.
